How to become a VRChat dancer (lap dance, pole & showcase)
How dancers get started in VRChat, from the gear and the practice to getting into a club.
The setup
Most VRChat dancers use a VR headset with full-body tracking (SteamVR trackers or IMU trackers such as SlimeVR) so their hips and legs follow their real moves. A well-made avatar with good proportions, physbones and performance rank makes a big difference on stage.
Practice and style
Dancers work on lap dance, pole dance, showcase or freestyle routines. Recording yourself in a mirror world and studying other dancers helps a lot. Find your own style: it is what clubs and fans remember.
Getting into a club
Clubs recruit dancers through their Discord: look for a "staff application" or "dancer audition" channel. Visit the club a few times first, get to know the community, then apply. Many dancers dance for several clubs.
Get seen
Create your free dancer profile on vrchat.dance: add your clubs, your socials and your VRChat profile, and report when you are dancing so your followers see you "on the floor". Every day, different dancers are featured on the home page.
